As Atlas Architecture, we completed and handed over the Cultural Center we designed in the heart of Kadıköy. The 12,500 m² building brings together a multipurpose hall, exhibition areas and a library in a single contemporary composition.
Design Approach
Our priority was for the building to establish an uninterrupted relationship with the public life around it. The ground level was conceived entirely as a publicly accessible passage.
“A good cultural building opens its arms, not just its doors.”
Sustainability
Natural ventilation, daylight optimisation and low-carbon materials kept the building’s operational load to a minimum.
- 35% lower energy consumption than neighbouring buildings
- Multipurpose 800-seat hall
- Publicly accessible roof terrace
Conclusion
The Kadıköy Cultural Center became a concrete example of how architecture can produce public value.
